How to delete your ClaimsGap account and the claim records in it, how to remove damage photographs from your device, and how to cut off Gmail without deleting anything else.
ClaimsGap is operated by Blue Tide Exteriors LLC, 1780 E. Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, Suite 907, Shreveport, LA 71105, United States.
Email privacy@claimsgap.com from the address on your account with the subject Delete my account. We confirm within 5 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days. Then delete the app from your phone — that is what removes the photographs, which we never had.
ClaimsGap stores things in two separate places, and deleting one does not delete the other:
- Our servers hold your account and your claim records — addresses, names, claim numbers, adjuster details, amounts, gaps, notes, tasks, checks, call logs and sent letters.
- Your device holds all of that again as a working copy, plus the damage photographs and imported PDFs, which exist nowhere else.
A complete wipe therefore takes both steps below.
Option 1 — disconnect Gmail only
Use this if you want ClaimsGap to stop reading adjuster correspondence but keep your account and your claims.
- In the app, open a claim’s Correspondence tab and choose Disconnect Gmail.
- The access and refresh tokens we hold are deleted immediately, along with the record of which Google account was connected. Correspondence stops syncing at once.
Disconnecting in the app deletes our copy of the tokens, but it does not clear the entry Google keeps on its own side. To remove that as well, go to your Google Account → Security → Your connections to third-party apps & services, find ClaimsGap, and remove its access. That takes effect immediately and independently of us.
Nothing read from Gmail was ever stored on our servers, so there is no correspondence archive to delete — the app only ever displayed message subjects and previews live. See the Privacy Policy for what that means in detail.
Option 2 — delete individual items
Inside the app you can delete, from both your device and our servers:
- Documents attached to a claim — this removes the photograph or PDF file from the device and the record of it from our database.
- Notes, tasks, call-log entries and check records.
There is no delete button for a whole claim in the app yet, and no self-serve account deletion. Until both ship, deleting a claim or an account is done by us on request, using Option 3. We treat those requests as a priority rather than as a formality.
Option 3 — delete your account and all data
Send an email to privacy@claimsgap.com from the email address registered to your account, with the subject line Delete my account. If you only want particular claims removed rather than the whole account, say so and name them — we will do that instead.
We will verify the request comes from the account holder, confirm receipt within 5 business days, and complete deletion within 30 days.
What gets deleted from our servers
- Your login and account record, including your email address and password hash.
- Every claim record — homeowner name, property address, carrier, claim number, loss type, and any mortgage servicer contact and loan number.
- Adjuster names, email addresses and phone numbers, and homeowner email addresses and phone numbers.
- All financial fields: replacement-cost values, contract totals, depreciation, approved and recovered amounts, and check records.
- All gap findings, with their categories, amounts, trade codes and citations.
- All notes, tasks and call-log summaries.
- The full text of every follow-up and demand letter sent from the app, with its recipients.
- Document records — the file names, labels and dates that referenced your photographs.
- Any stored Gmail access and refresh tokens, and the connected Google address.
What you must delete yourself
Damage photographs and imported PDFs live only on your device — we never received them and cannot delete them for you. Deleting the ClaimsGap app from your phone removes them, along with the local working copy of your claim data. Do this after we confirm the server-side deletion, and export anything you still need first.
Also remove ClaimsGap from your Google account’s third-party app list, as described in Option 1 — that entry belongs to Google, not to us.
What does not get deleted, and why
- Anything you already sent. Supplement packages, letters and photographs you emailed to an adjuster, and homeowner status links you shared, are out of our reach. They live in the recipient’s inbox and their systems.
- Homeowner status links already shared. A status link carries its information inside the link itself and cannot be revoked. Deleting your account does not stop an already-shared link from opening. See the Privacy Policy for what those pages do and do not contain.
- Calendar events and reminders you created from the app. Those belong to your calendar account — delete them there.
- Encrypted backups. Residual copies may remain in backups for a short period before being overwritten on the normal cycle. They are not accessible for ordinary use.
- Records we must keep by law, retained only for as long as the law requires.
Deletion cannot be undone. Claim documentation can matter for years — for a warranty dispute, a supplement that reopens, an audit, or a lawsuit. Export what you need before you ask us to delete. If you only want to stop paying, cancel instead; that leaves your claims in place.
If you are a homeowner, not a contractor
If your name, address, claim or property photographs are in ClaimsGap, a contractor put them there and the account is theirs. Ask that contractor first — they can delete a claim’s notes, documents and records themselves, and they can stop using status links for your claim immediately.
If that does not resolve it, write to privacy@claimsgap.com, tell us the contractor’s business name and the property address, and we will take it up with them and help you get it handled.
